
History
The orchestra was formed early in 2002. It gave its first performance in Bo'ness Town Hall on Tuesday 14th May. If subsequently performed in Big in Falkirk on Monday 3rd June in Callendar Park, Falkirk.
At present the membership stands at approximately 70 and it has a well balanced symphonic structure.
Membership is open to players of orchestral instruments with an ability of Grade V and above.
3 projects/concerts per year are organised for which there are 5 rehearsals.
FTO is grateful for the support given by Falkirk Coucil Education Department and for funding assistance from Stirling Educational Trust.
Award
FTO was delighted to receive in 2003 an award of £5,000 from Awards for All. This allowed the orchestra to purchase a set of orchestral percussions instruments three pedal timpani, drum kit, glockenspiel, crash cymbals, packing boxes and covers. This was wonderful news and FTO expresses its sincere thanks to Awards for All and the Scottish Arts Council.
